Accessibility statement

1. Our commitment

We aim to make frontstep.org.uk perceivable, operable, understandable and robust for as many people as possible. Our design target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

We want visitors to be able to access information regardless of technology, disability, language, literacy or circumstances.

2. What the website is designed to support

• keyboard navigation and a visible “skip to main content” link;
• clear headings, labels and page structure;
• high colour contrast and readable text sizing;
• responsive layouts for phones, tablets and desktop screens;
• meaningful alternative text for important images;
• form fields with visible labels, instructions and accessible status messages;
• reduced animation where a device requests reduced motion; and
• zooming and text resizing without deliberate loss of content.

3. Compliance status

The website has been designed towards WCAG 2.2 Level AA and has received an initial structural, keyboard, responsive-layout and content review. A full independent accessibility audit has not yet been completed, so we do not claim complete conformance at this stage.

4. Known limitations

We are not currently aware of a barrier that prevents access to the website’s core information or contact routes. However:

• email delivery and external websites may provide a different accessibility experience;
• older documents or future third-party content may not initially meet the same standard; and
• some users may need information in another format or additional support.

6. Preparation and review

This statement was prepared on 1 September 2026. It will be reviewed after material website changes and at least annually. Testing will combine automated checks with manual keyboard, zoom, contrast, responsive-layout and assistive-technology review.
